North Carolina Turkey Hunting

Occoneechee Lodge has experience in turkey hunting dating back to the early 1960’s.

Turkey Hunts

Northampton County’s Roanoke River bottom is home to the highest concentration of Wild Turkeys in North Carolina. Our four week season begins the second week in April. We offer guided and semi-guided hunts.

Occoneechee Lodge has experience in turkey hunting dating back to the early 1960’s. We will hunt together in pursuit of the sub-species in various other states from March through May

Licenses

All hunters must have a valid North Carolina Hunting License. Out of State Licenses are $50.00. This includes a big game stamp with six deer tags. Licenses can be purchased locally, or at Wal-Mart off exit 173 in Roanoke Rapids, or by phone in advance by calling NCWRC at (919) 715-4091. An old license, home state license, or hunter safety card is needed to purchase a license. All North Carolina Game Laws apply. Occoneechee Lodge imposes a $50.00 fine for shooting a button Buck. This enables us to better manage our herd for trophy bucks. We also have a $300.00 fine for any illegal deer kill.
