Welcome to Occoneechee Hunting Lodge.
Located in Jackson, NC.
The Best Whitetail Deer Hunting in North Carolina.
#1 County in Deer, Turkey and Buck kills per square mile ratio
On a guided hunt, our guests are taken to their stands before daylight by an experienced guide and picked up around 10:00 AM. After lunch, the hunters will be taken back to their stands until dark.
Northampton County’s Roanoke River bottom is home to the highest concentration of Wild Turkeys in North Carolina. Our four week season begins the second week in April.
Our turkey season coincides with the annual spawning of striped bass, “Rockfish” in the Roanoke River, which borders our property. It is possible to catch over 200 fish in a single day!
Hunting North Carolina At Occoneechee Lodge
We are located right outside of Garysburg, NC, in an area known as Occoneechee Neck. Occoneechee Lodge is comprised of hunting properties that span parts of Longview Plantation and General Matt Ransom’s plantation. We specialize in Deer, Turkey, and fishing trips on our 10,000-acre property.
This unrestricted area is 5000 acres and consists primarily of Longview plantation. In this area, there are no antler restrictions. The management area where the lodge is located is also 5000 acres and was part of general Matt Ransoms plantation. In this area, bucks must have an outside spread of 15 inches. Hunters are allowed to hunt either area they choose or both.
Welcome to Occoneeche Hunting Lodge
Welcome to Occoneechee lodge. We’re the oldest lodge in the area; offering guided hunts since 1989. We are unique in several ways and offer the most liberal bag limit, managed and unmanaged areas, and three full days or six full days of hunting.
Occoneechee Lodge is located in the heart of the peanut belt of Northeastern North Carolina. Our hunting area consists of 8,000 acres of family-owned land in Northampton County on the historical Roanoke River. Northampton has been the state leader in deer kills reported for the last several years. Directly across the river is Halifax County, the #2 deer kill county in the state.
We have an expert guide staff, who are all avid hunters. Our experienced and friendly guides will do their best to make your hunting experience as successful and enjoyable. We do not guarantee any kills because, under some conditions, the deer do not move as well. However, over the past several years, our hunters have enjoyed an over 100% success ratio.
