Guided
Hunts
On a guided hunt, our guest are taken to their stands before
daylight by an experienced guide and picked up around 10:00AM.
After a lunch, the hunters will be taken back to their stands
until dark. Handling the kill is included in a guided hunt.
The deer will be dressed and quartered. Packaging and shipping
is the hunter's responsibility. We have a cooler on the
premises.
Trophy
Area
Hunters have the option of hunting our 5,000 acre trophy
management which consists of three miles of river bottom,
crop fields, swamp, and hardwood ridges along the Roanoke
River. In this area bucks with a minimum 15 inch outside
spread or mature does may be harvested.

Stands
Our county law requires hunters to be elevated 8 feet when
firing a rifle. Our guests have a variety of stand locations
to choose from. We have tripod stands, tower stands, and ladder
tree stands selectively placed over peanut, corn and soybean
fields as well as pasture land, standing timber and logging
trails over fall and winter food plots. In addition, many
of our stands are baited with corn, with an average of around
2,000lbs. a week being fed. Shooting distances range from
five yards to three hundred yards. We also have portable stands
available and welcome our guests to bring their own. There
is a shooting range on the premises. |

Our
deer guides have years of experience hunting throughout
the southeast including Texas, Alabama, Louisiana and Tennessee.
We also have a trained blood trailing dog on duty.
Licenses
All hunters must have a valid North Carolina Hunting License.
Out of State Licenses are $80.00. This includes a big
game
stamp with six deer tags. Licenses can be purchased locally,
or at Wal-Mart off exit 173 in Roanoke Rapids, or by phone
in advance by calling NCWRC at (919) 715-4091. An old license,
home state license, or hunter safety card is needed to
purchase
a license. All North Carolina Game Laws apply. Occoneechee
Lodge imposes a $50.00 fine for shooting a button Buck.
This enables us to better manage our herd for trophy bucks.
We also have a $300.00 fine for any illegal deer kill.
